Known for her energetic presence and deeply musical sensibility, Jaclyn Sanchez—affectionately dubbed Jackie BOOM by legendary drummer Steve Jordan during a Bettye LaVette session—is a Grammy Award–winning recording and mix engineer whose work bridges analog tradition with contemporary artistry.
A natural-born artist, Jaclyn’s musical foundation began in church through singing and dance, expanded with violin at age ten, and deepened through piano and congas. Raised in Miami within an Ecuadorian-Cuban American household, she was immersed in a wide-ranging sonic palette shaped by Disco, Salsa, R&B, Reggae/Dancehall, Gospel, Neo-Soul, and Hip-Hop—genres that continue to inform her intuitive, artist-centered approach.
She studied Music Business at the University of Miami’s Frost School of Music, where Professor Cava Menzies encouraged her to explore sound engineering. In 2009, Jaclyn earned a scholarship to Berklee College of Music, majoring in Music Production & Engineering and Music Business, and contributed to numerous debut projects that helped define her creative voice.
After graduating in 2013, Jaclyn relocated to New York City to work at Avatar Studios (now Power Station) with producer and bassist Jerry Barnes (CHIC), while also receiving mentorship from Prince Charles Alexander. She later assisted Grammy-winning engineer Ben Kane, honing her command of analog recording, studio culture, and engineering craft. By 2016, she became a senior engineer at Electric Garden Brooklyn.
Jaclyn’s credits include a Grammy Award for Album of the Year with Jon Batiste, a Grammy nomination with H.E.R., and a Latin Grammy win with Cultura Profética. In 2025, she helped open Blue Note Los Angeles as Production Manager. Today, she operates Casa Lily in Hollywood, where collaboration, musical depth, and intention remain central to her work.
